Consistent
winner of numerous prestigious awards, The
Chuckwagon (cowboy slang for roadside eatery) makes
fun of its own self-image: Your Friendly
used Cow Dealer. Thereafter the humor
never lets up in its excellently conceived menu
flavoured
with wit and an immense variety of exceptional
dishes with the emphasis on Beef Steaks: Fillet,
Rump, T-bone, Sirloin at their Supreme Best and
all cooked with dedicated rare according to
personal preference.
The mildly-priced menu,
hilariously worded, amusingly illustrated, covers everything in addition to
the celebrated Steaks, Prawns, Calamari, Oysters, Smoked Salmon,
Eisbein, Schnitzels, Mutton Curry, Lasagna, Spare Ribs, Rack of Lamb, it goes
on and deliciously on, and it's big on desserts - there is also a special menu
for the kiddiewinks.
On Sundays a full à
la carte is offered together with an outstanding eat-as-much-as-you-like
carvery (oxtail, leg of lamb, roast pork, beef, and much more), including
starters, enders and a variety of Specials.
Décor:
an immensely comfortable, exquisitely furnished reproduction of a wild west
saloon but far more sophisticated and friendlier than those in the old shootin'
tootin' days. Great atmosphere enhanced by a large portrait of John Wayne who
certainly wouldn't look out of place here if he were still around.
